Black Bros. provides the most advanced coating technology that is custom designed for your specific needs. We offer precise and durable coating applications to fit almost any process. Roll coaters can process any substrate that can be presented to the coating roll in a single plane. Therefore, regardless of the substrate’s orientation (vertical or horizontal), we can configure a coater to perform the task.
Our machines will apply an accurate and consistent coating of any fluid product to a wide range of substrates. Painting a panel or plank is easily envisioned, but imagine a fire retardant or insecticide applied to a fabric or a non-glare coating spread evenly across a sheet of glass. Even the bottom tiles on a space shuttle are coated with Black Bros. coaters! Fast or slow, narrow or wide, a coater can be designed to fit your exact project.
Our bread and butter, Black Bros. continuously develops unique configurations of the grooved applicator roll for adhesive spreaders. Well over a century of experience in this area offers our customers a great deal of confidence in developing solution to their adhesive application problems.
A typical adhesive spreader may apply six wet mils of PVA adhesive to an engineered wood substrate. But other machines can apply much finer or much heavier weights of a wide range of high-tech bonding products, including Hot Melt Reactive PUR Adhesives. These polyurethane products offer excellent technical properties and Black Bros. is an experienced partner for you in the application.
Black Bros. can assist you in the selection and supply the perfect equipment to apply consistent laminating pressure to your product. Continuous or batch process models are available, and Black Bros. offers a wide range of sizes and can build machines to different levels of accuracy and laminating pressure.
As time passes and demand changes, Black Bros. stays in stride with customer needs. We continue to strive for making the job safe, simple, and successful. From a wide array of options — from simple layup tables to fully-automated equipment — we can assist you in finding the best material handling products for your project.
Black Bros. also offers its 495 Panel Cleaner to remove dust and foreign particles for goods such as particleboard, MDF, or hardboard prior to processing.
Web coating is the process of applying a coating to a continuous strip of material. Black Bros. web coaters and laminators are used for many products including carpet, fabric and foam, packaging, extruded plastics, cork and paper. Coatings can range from adhesives to paint, along with other liquid chemical treatments for specific industrial substrates. Size, speed, web path, and tension control will all be engineered by Black Bros. for your specific application.
Components of a web coating line may include unwinders, one or more coaters, hot or cold roll laminators, and rewinds.
Whether your application requires a simple approach, such as using a vacuum press, or a more complex process like that of a membrane press, Black Bros. can provide high-quality equipment to get you there! A complete line of accessories for the 3D marketplace is also available.
Is your project out of the ordinary? That’s our specialty. Put our experience to work for you! Black Bros. experienced engineering resources analyze customer requirements to insure straightforward design, manufacture, installation, and service of both standard and custom machines and systems.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
