MENDOTA, IL — Black Brothers Company received the Centennial Manufacturing Award from the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The honor recognizes businesses for “100 or more years of manufacturing excellence.”
With the presentation came a letter from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. “Thanks to Black Bros. Co.’s numerous contributions to Illinois, we’re building and reclaiming our status as a manufacturing powerhouse. With deep roots, your business continues to bring innovation and job creation to our growing manufacturing economy,” the letter reads. “I thank you for your service and dedication to your community and offer my sincere congratulations to your dedicated team.”
Founded in 1882 and in its sixth generation of family ownership, Black Bros. is a worldwide leader in laminating and roll coating equipment. Common industries include served include woodworking and furniture, building materials, transportation, metal, packaging and converting, and consumer products.
“We are proud to be recognized,” said Marketing Manager Clay Coss. “It’s another feather in our cap, an ode to our rich history. For 143 years, many great men and woman have been not only clocking in and clocking out day after day, but driving innovation in our industries and caring enough to do the job exceptionally well. It is how we’ve been able to stand the test of time. It has always been about great people making a great product. And, it still is today.”
