SIP Systems
Structural Insulated Panels
Black Bros. glue spreaders and laminating machines can be effectively combined to manufacture the structural insulated panels (SIPs) becoming more popular in modern construction applications. SIP panels are generally constructed by laminating OSB “skins” to an EPS core. Special applications may use steel, aluminum or fiberglass skins instead of OSB. Reaching the full engineering strength of SIP panels can only be achieved through precise control of the glue application and pressing cycle. Black Bros. equipment provides this control matched with the exceptional productivity required by the SIP industry. Black Bros. equipment is currently being used to produce SIP panels four feet wide and up to 24 feet in length.
